Why using a web based card sorting tool
There are many benefits in using a web based cardsorting tool:
- it is easyer to recruit partecipants with an web based cardsorting;
- if you are using netsorting to restructure an existing web site you can recruit the real users in your testing;
- the recruitment can be conducted via e-mail;
- no data-entry is needed;
- the analysis of the data can be performed in real time;
Features of Netsorting
Netsorting is not just cardsorting. The following features are implemented (or are planned to be implemented) in netsorting:
- Free listing: free-listing is a technique that can help you determine the scope of a content domain or just of a group inside that domain;
- importance evaluation: partecipants can be asked to evaluate the importance of how each item in a category;
- prototypicality evaluation: partecipants can be asked to evaluate how each item fits into a category;
- closed card sorting: partecipants are asked to sort the items into some specified (labelled) groups;
- open card sorting: partecipants are asked to sort the items into some unlabelled groups; after that they are asked to label the groups used and to indicate the criterion used in classifying the items;
