Netsorting quick start
You can use netsorting, for free, for your information architecture projects.
How to start to use netsorting
First step: register to Netsorting, giving some infos about you
Second step: create a test
A test represents the domain you are interested to study. For instance, the test can represent the information domain of the web site you have to realize or to restructure.
When you create the test you can give a brief description of it. This description can help your partecipants to understand the purpose of the survey and the domain you are studying.
Third step: create a questionnaire
Each test can have one or more questionnaires. In a typical information architecture project, for instance, there can be four questionnaire:
a free listing questionnaire, to discover the semantic domain and the lexicon used by the partecipants;
an importance evaluation questionnaire, to evaluate the importance the customers attribute to each item of the domain;
an open card sorting questionnaire, to elecit the implicit mental models of the partecipants about the expected categorization of the domain;
eventually, a closed card sorting questionnaire to narrow the results of the open card sorting.
Once you created a questionnaire, you can recruit your partecipants, for instance adding the link of the questionnaire to the pages of the site you need to redesign.
You can check the list of the partecipants and the results on line, in real time.
